Do you love to decorate? I do not.
I have friends that could style and redecorate their house all day. It’s a gift.
I simply do not have that gift.
I like when they come over. I pretend to be nice and gracious for a minute and then immediately put them to work. Carey, Kelli, Paige, Anisa, Dusty, my sister and my mom – they have this gift. And I try not to abuse their skills too often.
They have an “eye” for beautiful things and a skill for making a house a home.
I have had the same cute metal pumpkin for 10 years and he comes out each Halloween. And I hardly ever mess with that fall decor plan.
Each Christmas, I pull out our lovely fake tree, and I put up my kid’s ornaments and some of my favorite ones given to us over the years. The really bizarre ones find their way to the bottom of the box and EVERY TIME Larson finds them and squeals with joy. Those are her favorites. Up they go.
This year, I received some new ornaments from my friends at Ever Thine Home. I love this company – the hearts behind it and the way they bring faith into the home so beautifully. I have several of their products and use them often.
I am using the “His Royal Names” set on my tree this year and feeling pretty fancy over here.
It made me, the NON decorator, feel like I had an updated look for that tree. And I love that the crown is right next to my frog lips.
You know what it really did?
It made me think about each of these royal names of God. So beautiful. It gave our home just one more subtle way to focus on our Savior. We love sparkle and glitter in this house and you can spy those crowns when you walk in the door and the names. Well, they speak for themselves.

God put me at the brunch in Jacksonville where you spoke today. Uhhhh, can I pay you to be my friend? I was the woman in the crowd who kept nodding her head like a maniac. Generosity is the litmus test of a life bossed by Jesus. I ran into a friend – her husband is the president of the largest hospital in Jacksonville – and she was inspired to go pay off some layaways at Target. I guess you could say the Holy Spirit hit the mark. Thanks for being obedient and by the way hilarious too.
This is SO cool suzanne! i love how God works. thanks for coming to my talk.
