I want you to meet my friends, the contributors of this blog. They are the real deal. I didn’t ask them to be on here because they have the biggest following or the biggest book deals – I asked them because they are the real deal. Enjoy meeting Erin Carroll today! – Courtney

What advice would you give your younger mom self?

I would tell myself not to rush through the milestones. They aren’t a checklist and they aren’t meant to be a sprint. There is so much to be treasured in each little season and with my first son, I didn’t stop to treasure things. I was always looking to the next milestone to make sure he was “on target.” With my second son, I erally enjoyed those days and soaked up his time as a baby. In fact, he’s 3 now, and I still think of him as a baby.

What is God teaching you right now?

God is teaching me that I am enough. That what I do right now, with my boys and in my home is enough. He’s showing me that my influence doesn’t have to be vast and great, and that influencing the people closest to me and doing it for His glory is enough.

What’s your favorite part of motherhood?

I love experiencing things through my kids. Every time they do something new or experience something for the first time, it’s like I’m getting to do it for the first time, too.

What part of motherhood was harder than you thought?

Watching them grow up is amazing and also a little heartbreaking. Also… Three year olds are much h=
arder than I thought.

What can you say with certainty you were meant to do/be?

In this season of my life, I know I was meant to be a mother. I am passionate about creating a loving, safe, comfortable home and pouring into my family. I didn’t always inow that this is what I wanted, but the minute Hudson was born, I knew. I don‘t know what the long term future holds, but this is my calling for this season.

What’s a guilty pleasure?

I’m currently obsessed with Pop Secret Homestyle popcorn. My oldest son is equally obsessed and this makes for a dangerous combination during afternoon rest time.

What’s your favorite part of motherhood?

Something that is harder than you expected?

A guilty pleasure?

Greetings from Texas! I’m not an expert. I’m your friend. I love when faith comes to life in families. That’s what I’m doing most days of the week. Or, apologizing to my kids for the mess ups. Come in and get comfy. Start here.
