Had to start with a giggle this morning. Ah, the memories of the holiday season. I’m a great parent – can’t you tell? Ha!

Mentally, bust out your Christmas list… is there any person in your life that needs to know Christ better? A young person perhaps?

A person you are mentoring?

Your children?

A grandchild?

A niece? nephew? cousin? godchild?

Neighbor’s child?

Today’s #SHOPWISER gift guide includes items that are probably not new gifts to you, but still incredible. If you are trying to train hearts or introduce God to friends or family – these make great gifts.

1. Jesus Storybook Bible

It’s pretty simple. This Bible rules. I have said it before and I’ll say it 100 times – it is everything you are hearing about. The WAY she writes and brings God’s story to life for our young kiddos is perfection.

Who am I kidding? I LEARN so much from this Bible. Give one (they come in many formats) or win one this week – see below!

2. Jesus Calling & Jesus Calling For Kids

Sometimes, peer pressure is a good thing. I mentioned to Ella that Emma Kate had been starting her own time with God each day and reading Jesus Calling For Kids. Ella got these big competitive eyes. And suddenly she wanted to start reading it aloud. And, hey! Put that bad boy on the reading log. That counts for the week. Score! It matches up with my  version of Jesus Calling.

I can’t say enough about these devotionals – so timely, so sweet, so encouraging. Perfect for anyone just starting their journey of faith or deep in their walk. They sent me a BOX full of goodies to give away. So many of you will win a treat. Including Jesus Today that looks awesome. And there is an app now for kids! What!

We don’t do it every day – but when we do, it opens the sweetest discussion for our family. We are grateful for this wonderful resource as we seek to train the hearts in this family.

3. ABC Scripture Cards

Of course I have to mention that – because they are my baby. If you don’t know about them, you can read more here and here. ABC Scripture Cards were designed for the mom’s style and the child’s heart. So, they can stay out in your home and remind you to teach every day!

They are popping up in stores all over. If you want them in your store, just contact Magnolia Lane. If you don’t have a store nearby, you can order through my friends that sell online at Carol & Co (Chicago) or Sercie (Charlotte). They make the most fun gifts and they work!

4. Veggie Tales True Light of Christmas DVD

I am sooo excited about this movie! One of you sent it to me. When I watched this video – I couldn’t believe it. I thought they must have made it for the Light ‘Em Up project. Seriously, press play and you’ll get such a happy dance on. So fun!

It so perfectly captures the essence of Christmas and our hearts for giving over getting. It captures what God wants to do on this earth. I love it! I contacted Veggie Tales and they responded right way – and agreed we were on the same page. They would be delighted to give someone a copy of this movie. To help further spur the real message of Christmas – letting your True Light of Christmas Shine!
