I want to create, write, start … now what? Part 2

Yesterday, I gave you on my honest advice on where to start (Part 1) – if you have a dream stirring in your heart. It can be really hard to discern what to do next, especially when you have little ones. As promised, I wanted to give you some super practical links.

StoryBrand course offered by Donald Miller is solid and full of proven methods for launching and building a successful brand. If you can’t swing taking the full course, read the blog, listen to the podcast and definitely buy his book.

This article on Forbes.com outlines seven important principles for building a strong brand. Number 3 is especially helpful as it provides specific questions for you to answer.

As you build a brand, it is vital to understand who your target audience is and what their specific needs are.

Fiverr is a great place to start when you need a logo or other graphics design.

Writing a Book

Of course, She Speaks conference is one of the most valuable investments you can make into your writing (or speaking) career. Michael Hyatt, former president of Thomas Nelson Books, is an industry-leader in teaching and equipping on platform building. You can start on his blog where there is a wealth of posts specifically on the topic of platform. And, of course, his book titled Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World is a must-have for every writer.

Selling Products

Ask by Ryan Levesque will help you ask your audience the right questions to help you develop the right products. He provides step-by-step instruction his ASK method and offers insight into applying it to help you hit the ground running.

Launch is another great book designed to help you identify and launch successful products. Jeff Walker shares the specific methods and tools he used to sell his own product and has since taught to countless other successful businesses.
