Wild Woman on Focus on the Family This Week
I am not sure WHY in the world they let me on this professional large broadcast again. I had the pleasure of doing two shows on Focus on the Family last year and we had such a great time. I was able to share six of the virtues from my book. And I line danced, in a pirate hat.
I guess they were amused – so I got invited back.
And two episodes are airing this week! July 13 and 14. You can listen online – PART 1 and PART 2 for a LIMITED time and then you have to buy the episodes.
Be sure to listen for these key moments:
- When my friend Jim Daly pushes back on my several times and I’m not ready for it. That was fun.
- When I name the Fullers and the Dalys for their Family Olympics
- And count the times I say “UM” because I’m a professional you see
Here is what I have learned over the last couple years. I am not an expert in parenting. My kids are 7 and 9 for goodness sakes. I do however have a HUGE PASSION for a message God has laid on my heart. I believe in making virtues, love and laughter a daily part of MY life and your life. I believe our kids CAN experience God in a real way and they can light up the world. I have seen it.
So, when I get asked to go share that message – I go. I try to be myself. And sometimes I embarrass myself. And don’t have all the answers and that’s ok. I ask God to speak through me and use my words to stir in the hearts of parents – so that kids may know HIM!
I thoroughly enjoy the entire team at Focus on the Family. They care about families so much and equipping us all to walk this journey together.
Here are some other fun photos and moments from my trip. We taped this back in May.
DID YOU KNOW THEY have a SLIDE FOR KIDS at Focus? Me neither. Naturally I asked to go down it. In a dress. And I found out that John Fuller’s daughter worked at the slide. So, duh. I made her slide with me. Then, photo in head gear.
Anytime I visit Colorado Springs – that means catching up with my friend and agent Blythe Daniel. This girl IS AMAZING.
Dinner with my sweet friend Megan Nilsen, author of A Beautiful Exchange.
And her co-horts over at Writing In Pencil.

We LOVE you, wild woman!! So glad your job requires you to travel up here every now and again. Major benny! Now I just want to get down your way. Can’t wait to hear what other inspiration and shenanigans you’ve got cooking over on that Focus show…#neveradullmoment 🙂
Really enjoyed your interview! Great ideas and new resolve as a mom. Just ordered your book (and hopefully your ABC cards in the future!)
THanks for sharing!
Sarah

I can’t wait to get your book… sounds a lot like it will line up with how we are doing things here. Now to finish listening and on to part 2. Thanks again
In fact, we’ll send a copy of the book to you when you make a generous gift of any amount to the work here of Focus on the Family, as we equip parents to have thriving children and this is the kind of took that can be a conversation starter for you, so please consider a generous gift.
